Youth Program Support- KEY Zone at Lowell Elementary

Position Summary 
As a Youth Development AmeriCorps Member with True North AmeriCorps, you will help schools and community-based programs respond to unmet needs of their students. Service could include several tasks such as check ins, social emotional skill building, enrichment programming, and more.
You can serve in a part time (14-25 hours per week) or full-time capacity (35 hours per week) beginning August 16, 2021 with rolling enrollment dates, and ending in June or August of 2022. 
This is an AmeriCorps service position. AmeriCorps members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests- we celebrate diversity and encourage all who are interested to apply!
About the Site: KEY Zone at Lowell Elementary
Location: 2000 Rice Lake Rd Duluth, MN 55811
Position Size: Part Time- 25 hours/week
Schedule: M-F including 2-6pm
Description: KEY Zone offers structured daily afterschool programming that includes a snack and physical activity, academic enrichment and choice time. Lowell has grown to a large program with lots of indoor classroom space and outdoor playing space. An awesome community has been cultivated with many students being great friends, and staff working together as a team. Lowell is an immersion school, with many kids who learn in Spanish and Ojibwe all day long, and KEY Zone gives them an opportunity to meet and bond with kids who are not in their program. Our AmeriCorps members help to support their growth, learning, and development while at KEY Zone.

What It Takes
Great members are those with the desire to help our communities and our kids. Come as you are, we’ll provide the training you need! That said, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications by the time you begin your service:
  • 18 years of age or older by your start date.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent by your start date.
  • Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
  • Able to pass the pre-service background check process.
  • Prior offenses may not be an automatic disqualification.
