Youth Council Liaison (Remote)

Greening Forward Youth Council Liaison
Greening Forward is a youth-led, youth-inspired nonprofit organization that focuses on developing youth leadership and increasing their involvement in environmental activism. Our programs range from conferences to grants given to student groups, and we work with students from across the country, in addition to several other countries. The Youth Council Liaison is essentially a mentor for the Greening Forward Youth Council. They are responsible for guiding the Youth Council through whatever event or project they may be working on, as well as serving as their line of communication back to the organization as a whole. The Liaison also serves as an opportunist to assist the company in any way necessary, sometimes corresponding to curriculum development or helping with event planning.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Youth Council and the Staff of Greening Forward. The staff should go through the Liaison with questions/concerns/need for help from the Youth Council, and vice versa. They should also communicate any important changes or updates in the organization to the Council.
  • Offer assistance and advice to the Youth Council with anything they are working on
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new members for the Council
  • Define the positions in the Council, and act as a moderator in working out any disputes between members of the Council (In the event of a problem in the Council, the Liaison is in charge of disciplinary measures)
  • Take an active role in trying to develop each member’s talents, strengths, and weaknesses and recommend members of the council who would be a good fit for future staff positions
