HandsOn VISTA – Creighton Rotary Member
Join Creighton Community Foundation and expand a number of youth service clubs in an underserved community! The successful applicant will engage and recruit youth to aid hunger relief programming though clubs and service activities. They will plan and launch youth service days, develop partnerships with local organizations, and build relationships with community members to support events and activities. You should have: (1) an ability to pursue and dynamically engage people from all walks of life (2) the ability to construct a plan from an end goal, including on-going steps involving many volunteers and partners; (3) a crazy orientation toward getting things done. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred but not required, and you will need to be able to pass a Arizona fingerprint clearance check to be able to work with children.
VISTA's who move over 50 miles qualify for a relocation allowance as well as a settling in allowance. All of our VISTA's receive a modest taxable living allowance of about $1,100/month (before taxes), federal loans qualify for forbearance. After the completion of one's year of service, they also qualify for an educational award valued at about $6,300, which can be used towards federal loans, or further education.
