Join the Maricopa Co. Office of Community Health to help develop a pathway for low-income individuals to become certified Community Health Workers (CHW), improving community health and job opportunities! You will help implement a new population health strategy while developing CHW programming that will make a permanent impact on the lives of vulnerable populations. The successful applicant will refine partnership structures to ensure the CHW pipeline program is set up for success. Along with partners the member will continue and improve a pilot program to recruit and enroll community members into the CHW program. Recruitment efforts might include designing informational materials, developing partnerships with job placement outlets, or creating job fair type opportunities. We seek applicants with technical skills in training design or experience in designing and implementing HIV training. Representation, or strong experience working within, LBGTQ communities strongly desired.
VISTA's who move over 50 miles qualify for a relocation allowance as well as a settling in allowance. All of our VISTA's receive a modest taxable living allowance of about $1,100/month (before taxes), federal loans qualify for forbearance. After the completion of one's year of service, they also qualify for an educational award valued at about $6,300, which can be used towards federal loans, or further education.
